I know a lot of people who tried making brown rice and were so discouraged they gave up trying to include it in their diet. Here is an uncomplicated way to make perfect, fluffy brown rice every time. It takes about an hour to make so, I like to double or triple the amount I need and freeze the rest to make quick meals later.

This perfect brown rice recipe is adapted from Saveur.
- Bring large pot of water to boil. (About 10 cups)
- Place 2 cup rice in a strainer, rinse thoroughly.
- Add rice to boiling water, cook uncovered for 40 minutes.
- Strain rice when done, place back into the pot and cover for 20 minutes. (Do not place on hot burner)
- Fluff with a fork before serving.
If you love the convenience of pre-cooked frozen rice, here is how to do it yourself.
- Place 1 cup cooked rice in vacuum sealer bags, seal according to vacuum sealer instructions.
- Place 1 cup cooked and cooled rice in freezer bags, remove the air and seal.
- Label the package and freeze.
- Defrost overnight or in a microwaveable dish before using.
- De-clump the rice between your fingers if needed.
