Marinade Injector
The easiest way to create juicy and flavorful meat and poultry is to use a marinade injector. Create a burst of flavor in every bite by combining your favorite flavors into a marinade and injecting them straight into the thickest parts of the meat or poultry. Marinade injectors look just like big hypodermic needles and like all cooking utensils they come in all price ranges. The one I have is inexpensive and works just fine for injecting marinade into either meat or poultry. Whether you are grilling, frying or roasting your dinner this is the best way to get extra moisture and flavor into your dinner.
For the best results for your marinade injector the directions say to start with a marinade that doesn't contain anything that might clog up the needle. Directions usually say to avoid flaky herbs, crushed garlic or anything else that might have a tough time getting through the needle. While this may be true, I have never had a problem with using finely minced garlic, ginger, fresh or dried herbs and spices. Make your favorite marinade recipe or if you want to experiment, try any seasoned oil, flavored vinegar, wine, herbs or spices. Place your marinade in a cup or small bowl. To extract the marinade, place the needle end into the marinade and just pull the handle up while making sure the holes in the needle end are fully covered in the liquid marinade. Inject the meat or poultry with the needle making sure the holes are all the way in the meat, then press the handle down and the marinade will release into the entree. Injecting small spurts of marinade into as many areas as possible will be sure to give the most flavor. By injecting subtle flavors you will create a special entree you and your family will love.
