French Toast

French Toast
We grew up loving this version of French Toast. To make the very best French Toast, use Dutch Crunch bread if you can find it. It is a light and airy bread that really soaks up the egg mixture creating a custard-like French Toast.
4 eggs, lightly beaten
2 tablespoons low-fat milk 1 teaspoon vanilla |
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
8- 1 inch slices of Dutch Crunch bread (or your favorite bread) |
- In a shallow bowl mix the eggs, milk, vanilla and cinnamon.
- Heat a heavy skillet or griddle over medium heat. (Coat with cooking spray.)
- Place each slice of bread in the mixture. Turn the bread over and coat both sides well.
- Cook egg coated bread until golden, turn over to cook the other side.
- Serve with butter and your favorite syrup.
