French Toast
We grew up loving this version of French Toast. To make the very best French Toast, use Dutch Crunch bread if you can find it. It is a light and airy bread that really soaks up the egg mixture creating a custard-like French Toast.
Directions:
1 teaspoon flax meal
1 cup plant milk
1/2 tablespoon agave
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
8- 1 inch slices of Dutch Crunch bread (or your favorite bread)
1 teaspoon flax meal
1 cup plant milk
1/2 tablespoon agave
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
8- 1 inch slices of Dutch Crunch bread (or your favorite bread)
Directions:
- In a shallow bowl mix all ingredients except the bread.
- Place in the refrigerator for 20 minutes.
- Heat a heavy skillet or griddle over medium heat.
- Place each slice of bread in the mixture. Turn the bread over and coat both sides well.
- Cook coated bread in hot skillet 3-4 minutes until golden, turn over to cook the other side.
- Serve with fresh fruit, nut butter or your favorite syrup.
