Pork Chops with Mushroom Gravy
Tenderly baked pork chops with a rich creamy mushroom gravy. Serve these baked pork chops with mashed potatoes for a real old-fashioned comfort meal.
4 pork chops
1 tablespoon butter 3 tablespoons flour 1/2 cup low-sodium chicken broth 1/2 cup non-fat milk |
2 tablespoons minced onion
3 cloves minced garlic 1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme 1-1/2 cups thinly sliced fresh mushrooms |
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Coat the baking dish with cooking spray.
- Place the pork chops in a baking dish, cover, and bake for 45 minutes.
- While the pork chops are cooking, melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat.
- Pre-measure the flour, chicken broth, and the milk.
- When the butter is melted whisk in the flour.
- When the flour and butter are fully mixed, slowly add the chicken broth and milk whisking until smooth.
- Stir in the onion, garlic, and thyme, stirring well. Add the mushrooms and stir until they are coked and the sauce is thickened.
- Remove pork chops when done or until a thermometer reads 160 degrees. Pour mushroom gravy over pork chops before serving
