Pulled Chicken Sandwiches
These are perfect for fall football season. Just put all the ingredients in the slow cooker and enjoy your flavorful, warm sandwiches for dinner or half time.
1 pound chicken breasts or chicken thighs skin removed
1/2 cup low-sodium ketchup 1/2 cup minced onion 1/2 tablespoon minced garlic 2 tablespoons brown sugar 2 tablespoons honey |
2 tablespoons spicy mustard
2 tablespoons water 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper |
- Place chicken pieces in bottom of slow cooker.
- In a small bowl, mix the rest of the ingredients (except the buns).
- Blend if you want a smooth sauce.
- Pour barbecue sauce over chicken.
- Cook on low 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
- Remove the chicken from the slow cooker and shred the meat.
- Return the chicken back to the slow cooker, mixing it with the sauce.
- Serve the chicken and barbecue sauce on hot rolls.
