Chuck Roast

Chuck Roast
This is a very tender and flavorful way to cook chuck roast. Slow cooking the meat makes it falling off the bone tender.
3-4 pounds chuck roast
1 tablespoon olive oil 4 cloves sliced garlic 1 sliced medium onion |
3/4 cup red wine
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce 1 teaspoon low-sodium beef bullion granules1 tablespoon chopped fresh tarragon |
- Heat the olive oil in a heavy skillet. Saute garlic and brown roast 1-2 minutes per side.
- Arrange onions in the bottom of a slow cooker. Place roast and garlic on top of onions.
- Mix the red wine, Worcestershire sauce, and beef granules. Pour on top of roast.
- Sprinkle tarragon on top and around the roast.
- Set the slow cooker to low and cook for 10 hours.
- You can season the chuck roast with a couple of shakes of salt and pepper before browning if you wish.
