Slow Cooked Whole Chicken
No fuss, falling off the bone tender chicken. This couldn't be easier to make, put the chicken in the slow cooker in the morning and it will be ready to serve for dinner.
1 whole chicken
1 lemon, quartered 2 small onions, quartered |
3 cloves peeled garlic
1 teaspoon paprika |
- Remove giblets, rinse chicken and pat dry.
- Place the quartered lemon, onions, and the whole garlic cloves in the bottom of a slow cooker.
- Rub garlic over and under chicken skin. Sprinkle paprika over chicken.
- Place chicken in slow cooker on top of vegetables.
- Set the slow cooker on high, cover and cook for 1 hour.
- Turn dial down to low and cook for about 5-6 hours, or until chicken is no longer pink and juices run clear.
- Let sit 10 minutes before carving.
