Teriyaki Tuna
Fresh tuna needs to be cooked quickly to retain it's moisture. This is a delicious and quick way to enjoy fresh tuna.
2 tablespoons rice vinegar
1 pound fresh tuna, portioned 5 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce 1 tablespoon olive oil 1 tablespoon sesame oil |
3 cloves minced garlic
2 teaspoons brown sugar 1 teaspoon ground ginger 2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds 1 tablespoon olive or canola oil |
- Place tuna on a plate, pour rice vinegar over tuna and marinate for 15 minutes.
- In a small bowl mix the rest of the ingredients except 1 tablespoon olive or canola oil.
- Dry tuna using paper towels.
- Heat a heavy skillet over medium heat. Add the remaining 1 tablespoon oil when the skillet is hot.
- Cook tuna over med-high heat 2 minutes, turn over and cook 1-2 more minutes.
- Remove pan from heat, lower heat to med-low, pour teriyaki sauce over tuna, cover, return to heat, and cook 1-2 more minutes.
